The man behind the success of Toronto is stepping up his plans to introduce a second Canadian team into the English game.
Eric Perez, who has overseen the Wolfpack's promotion to the Kingstone Press Championship at the first attempt, is working on the formation of a second Trans-Atlantic club and says an announcement could be made before the start of next season.
Before Toronto kicked a ball in League 1, Perez spoke of his ambition to take rugby league to Montreal as part of a major expansion into North America and he says the success of the Wolfpack in their inaugural season has increased his optimism.
"Within the next six months there will be an announcement of a second Canadian team," Perez told Press Association Sport.
"I'm pretty sure. So watch out for that. It will be a huge announcement and it will show the progress and the belief in the project."
There are also proposals to form a team in New York and, although Perez is not involved in that project, he insists a breakthrough across the Atlantic could unlock untold riches for rugby league.
"Four, five or six North American teams is just what the game needs right now," Perez said.
