Robb can still get a good TPP deal: Joyce

Agricultural Minister Barnaby Joyce believes that Trade Minister Andrew Robb can still negotiate a good deal under the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce hasn't given up on Australia signing the Trans-Pacific Partnership, potentially the world's biggest regional trade agreement.

Week-long negotiations over the TPP ended in Hawaii on Saturday without an agreement with key sticking points for Australia being sugar and dairy, but Mr Joyce says the process is on going.

"Everyone is staying at the negotiating table and we have an incredibly able set of hands in Andrew Robb being there," Mr Joyce told Sky News.

Palmer United Party leader Clive Palmer said Mr Robb was constrained by sugar because the coalition wants to win seats in sugar growing areas.

"There may be other industries that need to be looked at but they may not be as politically influential as the sugar industry is in the coalition," he told ABC TV.

He said the process should not be rushed.
