US singer Robin Thicke is trying to win back his estranged wife Paula Patton.
Patton confirmed her separation from Thicke on Monday.
According to TMZ, Thicke spoke to their photographers about his desire to save the marriage.
"I'm just trying to get her back," he told photographers at a Washington DC airport. The verbal exchange was captured on video and has since been published on the TMZ website.
As the paparazzo asked him questions, Thicke claimed he was committed to returning to work but admitted his split from Patton had left him feelling shaken.
"Just trying to figure it out man," he told the photographer as he walked out of the airport to his chauffeured vehicle.
Just before he entered the car, he made it clear his raunchy performance with Miley Cyrus at last August's MTV Video Music Awards had nothing to do with his marital strife.
"No," he said when the paparazzo asked if this appearance led to the split.
The Blurred Lines singer married Patton, who he met when he was just 14, in 2005. They have son Julian together.
According to TMZ, Patton initiated the split on Friday and Thicke jumped straight on a plane to see her in Canada, despite being scheduled to perform.
Thicke pulled out of a third show on his North American tour earlier this week. He was due to perform at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina on Tuesday night.
The singer had pulled out of two shows over the weekend, citing vocal problems.
