Rogers, Marsh to open in tour game

Australia have named their XI for the opening match of the Ashes tour, with David Warner and Nathan Lyon among the players rested.

Chris Rogers and Shaun Marsh will open the batting in Australia's tour match against Kent.

The tourists have confirmed their XI for the four-day match in Canterbury that starts on Thursday night (AEST).

Hard-hitting opener David Warner and offspinner Nathan Lyon headline the players rested, while Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will also sit the game out.

Rogers, who was sidelined during the two-Test series against the West Indies due to concussion, is expected to be recalled for the first Test on July 8 in Cardiff.

Australia's 17-man squad trained at Canterbury's St Lawrence Ground on Wednesday.
