Aaron Finch is confident he can shake off a demoralising night at Etihad Stadium with the Melbourne Renegades to resume his batting heroics for Australia.
Finch smashed 121 for Australia in their one-day international win over England at the MCG on Sunday, but hit a dramatic low two days later when his BBL side seemingly crashed out of semi-final contention.
The Renegades were rolled for 104 after their star batsman and skipper Finch was bowled by paceman Gurinder Sandhu for a second-ball duck.
The Thunder triumphed by nine wickets with more than eight overs to spare, scoring their first win in seven matches this season and their first victory since December 2011.
The Renegades have a 2-4 record from six games and are struggling to stay in touch with the top four, especially with Finch unavailable for their remaining two games because of international commitments.
Finch heads to Brisbane on Wednesday as Michael Clarke's side prepare for Friday's second fixture in the five-match series against England, followed by Sunday's game three at the SCG.
"It's a big come down. I've gone from one of my highest highs to a very low low," Finch told reporters on Tuesday night.
"I'm still pretty excited about the hundred I got on Sunday and to turn up and get a good ball from a very promising young quick, that happens.
"I'm not going to lose much sleep over it. When you open the batting, you get good balls every now and then and that was one of them today.
"Push on, move it aside and hopefully prepare well for Friday."
Finch praised Sandhu who has claimed 10 wickets at 18.60 in seven BBL games this summer.
The 20-year-old was named man of the match for his 3-21 off four overs.
"That was a wicket that if you hit the seam you got something out of it," Finch said.
"He definitely did that and that's why he's regarded so highly out of the young quicks around the country."
