North Melbourne have been given special permission by the AFL to play in their indigenous guernsey for the second week in a row.

All 18 teams wore uniquely-designed jumpers to celebrate last weekend's indigenous round, with the Kangaroos beating West Coast in Perth.

But North wanted to play in the strip designed by Aboriginal artist Sarrita King in front of a home crowd, and the league approved Lindsay Thomas's request.

"The boys are really keen to wear it again and pay homage to our fantastic indigenous heritage," Kangaroos coach Brad Scott said.

Thomas hurt his hamstring in the clash with the Eagles, but was named on Thursday and is expected to tackle Richmond on Sunday.

North Melbourne have won three times since an upset 43-point triumph over Sydney at the SCG in round four, but Scott's charges are yet to post consecutive wins.

"We've had good wins. We've beaten some good sides," Scott said.

"The pressure's on us to become a good team and good teams are consistent.

"They do it regardless of circumstance. We haven't been able to do that yet."

Scott said the AFL's equalisation measures announced on Wednesday were a step in the right direction, but that it was clear the "big clubs successfully negotiated what they wanted."
