Rooster forward cleared after pub fracas

Sydney Roosters' NRL forward Frank-Paul Nu'uausala has been cleared of any wrongdoing after an incident that saw a man get punched in the face.

Sydney Roosters forward Frank-Paul Nu'uausala has been cleared of any wrong-doing following an assault at a Sydney hotel last weekend.

The NRL club issued a statement on Wednesday night saying it had been informed by the Rose Bay Local Area Command that Nu'uausala had no case to answer.

Nu'uausala was at a Double Bay pub on Sunday morning when his friend, Mulinuu Unasa, punched another patron, Christopher Downey.

Downey said "Roosters suck" to Nu'uausala before Unasa punched him in the face and broke his nose.

Unasa pleaded guilty at Waverley Local Court on Monday to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He will be sentenced in December.
