The Sydney Roosters are nursing no scars from their 2014 NRL finals exit and are adamant they have found another level this year.
They will be out to avoid being bundled out one game short of the grand final for the second straight year when they meet Brisbane in Friday's preliminary final.
Centre Michael Jennings says he and his teammates have resigned last year's campaign to the dustbin of history, but only after learning some valuable lessons.
Just as they did last year, Trent Robinson's men finished in top spot only for their momentum to be stopped in the first week of the finals after suffering an upset loss.
Also like 12 months ago, they rebounded in the weekend's semi-final.
But the Roosters are hoping the comparison stops there.
They were sent packing last year by eventual premiers South Sydney, a fate they're determined won't be repeated.
Jennings says there's one big difference between the Tri-colours of 2014 and 2015 - this year they've risen to the occasion of finals footy.
"I don't think we really played finals footy (in 2014)," he said.
"We lost the first week and we played North Queensland and almost lost it in the last minute. That wasn't really finals footy.
"Going into the Souths game and losing it, that pretty much summed up our season.
"This year is different - we played some good footy throughout the whole year and now we're playing finals footy."
