Sydney Roosters hooker Jake Friend will be sidelined for up to a month with a hamstring injury.

The tough hooker suffered the injury in the premiers' win over St George Illawarra on Saturday.

The Roosters confirmed on Tuesday he will miss two-four NRL games.

Friend joins teammates Sonny Bill Williams (thumb) and Daniel Tupou (back) on the sidelines for the Roosters.

Williams broke his thumb in the Roosters' loss to Newcastle two weeks ago and NSW winger Tupou hasn't played since State of Origin III.

The duo is likely to spend the next fortnight out of action.

The Roosters face Gold Coast in round 22 at Allianz Stadium on Monday night.
