The Sydney Roosters have informed the NRL integrity unit of an incident at a Double Bay hotel that allegedly involved player Frank-Paul Nu'uausala.

It's understood the Roosters have spoken with Nu'uausala and believe him to be innocent, however they can't comment publicly until the police have concluded their investigations.

A 35-year-old man was taken to St Vincents Hospital after suffering a broken nose in a brawl at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Sydney's east just before 1.30am on Sunday.

It has been reported that Nu'uausala was at the pub when the incident occurred, however it's understood the New Zealand international wasn't involved in the assault.

The Roosters offered a statement, but wouldn't elaborate further.

They hope the police and NRL integrity unit will clear 27-year-old Nu'uausala of any involvement later on Sunday.

"The Sydney Roosters are aware of an overnight incident at Double Bay," a spokesperson said.

"The club has informed the NRL integrity unit.

"As this is a matter involving the police, the club is not in a position to make any further comment at this time."

It's been reported that no other Roosters players were present.
