Emerging Australian fighter Jessica Rose-Clark has been rewarded for a strong UFC debut, with a bout against high profile Paige VanZant in the United States early in the new year.
Rose-Clark made a big impression by upsetting compatriot Bec Rawlings on points on the Sydney card on November 18.
The reward for Las Vegas-based Clark is a January 14 (15 Australian time) flyweight bout in St Louis against No.12 ranked strawweight VanZant, who has appeared on the American version of Dancing with The Stars.
VanZant's list of victims includes two Australians, Rawlings and veteran Alex Chambers.
She scored a second round stoppage of Rawlings in August 2016 and a third round submission of Chambers in September 2015.
However beyond her win over Rawlings were submission losses to Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas, with the latter going on to win the strawweight world title earlier this month.
