Royal hoax nurse inquest next week

A British inquest will be held next week into the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha following a prank call by two Australian radio hosts.

The British inquest into the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha following a prank call by two Australian radio hosts will be held next week.

Ms Saldanha, 46, was found dead in her staff accommodation on December 7, 2012, three days after answering the call inquiring about Prince William's pregnant wife Kate Middleton, who was in London's King Edward VII Hospital for acute morning sickness.

The mother-of-two was the first nurse to answer the call by Australian DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who pretended to be the Queen and Prince Philip for an on-air prank.

Ms Saldanha passed them on to a second nurse on the ward, who was duped into giving out details of the Duchess of Cambridge's medical condition.

The inquest has faced repeated delays, but Westminster Council announced on Wednesday that her inquest will be held at the Royal Courts of Justice on September 11 and 12.
