A Sydney store owner accused of causing a fire that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her baby will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.
Adeel Ahmad Khan is accused of murdering Bianka O'Brien, 31, her one-year-old boy Jude and their neighbour Chris Noble, 27, by deliberately lighting the blaze which led to a massive explosion at his Rozelle convenience store last September.
Khan, who allegedly started the fire to collect insurance money, appeared via video link dressed in prison greens during a brief Central Local Court mention on Tuesday.
His barrister Mark Fozzard said the defence was still waiting for some evidence to be added to the case brief.
The matter was adjourned until May 19.
Mr Noble's mother was in court on Tuesday but did not speak to media waiting outside.
