Hundreds of people have gathered at a rugby match in the central western NSW town of Orange to honour 16-year-old Lochie Connaughton who died in a scooter crash in Bali.
The teenager was holidaying with his parents in Kuta when he lost control of a scooter and drove into a concrete separator last Thursday.
Friends and teammates assembled after Lochie's Orange City Rugby Club played an under-17s match on Sunday.
They paid tribute to their mate with a minute's silence and released balloons into the sky, the Central Western Daily reports.
Lochie's teammate Jack Conners said the team wore black armbands and his name on their wrists during their game on Sunday.
"We loved him so much," Conners said.
"He's our motivation every game between now and the end of the season.
"He has made so many people happy, he is an unbelievable person and always will be."
Lochie's number 13 jumper will be retired for the rest of the season.
The teenager's parents are believed to have accompanied his body on a flight to Sydney from Denpasar on Saturday night.
Family friend Billy Greatbatch has raised almost $55,000 through a crowd-funding web site to help the teenager's family bring him home, as well as other associated expenses.
