Russia has won the world ice hockey title, beating Finland 5-2 in the gold-medal match watched by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk.
Star forwards Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin scored eight minutes apart to lead Russia to victory - its second title in three years.
Ovechkin tied the game at 2-2 in the second period with a backhand and Malkin wristed a shot high into the roof of the net on a power play for the go-ahead goal.
Danis Zaripov also scored a goal and added two assists.
With the victory, Russia avenged a loss to Finland in the quarter-finals in the Sochi Olympics and earned its fifth gold since the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union.
Viktor Tikhonov and Sergei Shirokov scored a goal each.
Putin had no immediate reaction to the presidential vote in Ukraine on Sunday, instead focusing on an ice hockey game in which Russia claimed a fifth world title.
"The head of state wanted to personally support the Russian team playing in the final of the world hockey championships," Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agency ITAR-TASS on Sunday.
Defending champions Sweden had to settle for bronze earlier after beating the Czech Republic 3-0.
