Officials in a Siberian province say a veteran wrestling coach has died of a heart attack after taking part in the Sochi Olympics torch relay.
Authorities in the Kurgan region said 73-year old Vadim Gorbenko died on Sunday after carrying the Olympic flame.
Russian news reports said Gorbenko, a Greco-Roman wrestling coach who headed a local sports school, felt unwell after carrying the torch over some 200 metres and died in a local hospital of a heart attack a few hours later.
Gorbenko looked well and smiled during a brief interview with local television after taking part in the torch relay, which will cover 65,000km and is the longest in the history of the Olympics.
