Russian man charged with ATM fraud

A Russian national will appear in court for allegedly using fake bank cards to withdraw cash 19 times over a number of months.

A Russian national has been caught using fake cards to withdraw money from ATMs in the Newcastle area.

Police say the 28-year-old used the fraudulent cards to take cash out 19 times between June and October.

He was charged with 19 counts of dealing with the proceeds of crime and refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday.
