Russian protest marches turn into remembrance of Nemtsov

Tens of thousands of people have turned out in Moscow to remember killed opposition figure Boris Nemtsov.

A leading Russian liberal politician and noted adversary of President Vladimir Putin was shot dead late last week, shocking many in the nation.

Boris Nemtsov, who had said only weeks before his death that he was afraid Mr Putin would kill him, was shot four times in the back in a drive-by shooting.

At the time of his murder, Mr Nemtsov was in the process of organising a rally against the war in Ukraine.

Despite his death, the rally Mr Nemtsov was organising has gone ahead, with tens of thousands of people turning out to protest the war and mourn his death.
