The creator of the meme 'Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal' died over the weekend from bone cancer, prompting his fans to petition actor Ryan Gosling to finally eat a spoonful of cereal.

Gosling happily obliged and documented the event in a Vine clip.

The Hollywood star tweeted shortly after: "My heart goes out to all Ryan McHenry's family and friends. Feel very lucky to have been apart of his life in some small way."
Filmmaker Ryan McHenry, 27, was the brains behind the viral meme series 'Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal'. In the series of clips, McHenry superimposes his hand onto some of Gosling's films, and tries to feed the actor a spoonful of cereal. In each scene, Gosling looks away in disgust or grimaces at the sight of cereal.

McHenry was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, six months after his meme went viral. He went on to document his cancer journey online, but sadly died on Sunday.
