England rugby coach Eddie Jones has turned to Australian rugby league to brush up his team's defence and he expects it will make a big difference.

Jones has added Melbourne Storm defensive coach Jason Ryles to his backroom staff on a temporary basis ahead of the team's autumn internationals against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia.

"We want to bring that harder edge to our defence so he (Ryles) is in for a couple of weeks to assist Paul Gustard," said Jones at the England squad's training camp in Portugal .

We brought him over and I think he'll make a hell of a difference.

"There are certain technical issues we can learn from rugby league and Jason brings those."
