An Adelaide man has admitted to masterminding a $40 million drug syndicate involving cannabis being moved between three states.

Storm Alexander Strang, whose ex-girlfriend is a police officer facing corruption charges in relation to him, pleaded guilty in the South Australian District Court on Monday.

The 43-year-old, of St Peters, admitted to 14 counts of money laundering, one of participating in a criminal organisation and one of trafficking a large quantity of a controlled drug.

Prosecutors have alleged that Strang led the syndicate, which ran for four years and involved cannabis being moved between Adelaide, Queensland and Western Australia.

He was one of 16 South Australians arrested over the syndicate, which police said involved members receiving payment by postal packs full of cash.

In a separate case, Strang's former girlfriend, Senior Constable Amanda Boughen, has pleaded not guilty to abusing public office and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The 40-year-old is facing a District Court trial, accused of tipping off Strang about the police investigation.

On Monday, one of Strang's co-accused, Petra Camm, 37, of Ashton, pleaded not guilty to participating in a criminal organisation and six counts of money laundering.

Her case was adjourned to October 9, while Strang's was adjourned to October 8.
