SA man found guilty one-punch killing

An Adelaide man has been found guilty of manslaughter over the one-punch death of a pizza shop owner.

An Adelaide man has been found guilty of manslaughter for the one-punch killing of a pizza shop owner.

In a majority verdict in the South Australian Supreme Court on Wednesday, a jury found Danny Nedza, 26, guilty over the killing of Roberto Vallelonga, 44, in May last year.

Mr Vallelonga was felled by a punch and fatally hit his head in Rundle Street.

The jury deliberated for about seven hours over two days. The verdict was delivered with gasps from the public gallery.

"There were also hushed cries of "yes" and "thank God" from Mr Vallelonga's family and supporters.

Justice Anne Bampton immediately revoked Nedza's bail.

During the trial, prosecutors said Mr Vallelonga was killed as a result of Nedza's aggression and "late-night bravado".

They said Nedza charged at the father of three and was not acting in self defence when he threw the deadly blow.

Mr Vallelonga had been out with his wife Dianne at a city night club earlier before the incident.

They were getting into a cab while Nedza and his friends were doing the same when an altercation took place.

Nedza will return to court for sentencing on September 17.
