SA murder charge dropped against woman

SA prosecutors have dropped a murder charge against a woman whose boyfriend has admitted the crime.

A murder charge has been dropped against a woman arrested over the fatal stabbing of an Adelaide debt collector outside his home.

Nigoc Linh Bui, 33, was charged with murdering Amin Asrawe, 33, who was found dead outside his Paradise home on August 9 last year.

Her boyfriend, Phi Ngoc Phu Le, 26, pleaded guilty to the charge last month and is yet to face a sentencing hearing.

Prosectors in the Adelaide magistrates court on Thursday withdrew the charge against Bui, who now only faces a charge of assisting an offender.

Police at the time described the killing as brutal, saying the newly-married Mr Asrawe may have been ambushed on his way home from work in the city.

Prosecutors have alleged that Mr Asrawe suffered 26 stab wounds from at least two weapons.

After the murder charge was withdrawn, magistrate David Whittle granted Bui home detention bail, adjourning the case to August 15.
