The search for a man wanted for questioning over the suspicious death of a woman in outback South Australia on Friday is entering its fourth day.

South Australian police on Sunday released an image of a man identified as Danny Ferguson, 35, who they wish to question over the death of a 34-year-old woman in Oodnadatta.

Three people known to police brought the unresponsive woman to an Oodnadatta clinic on Friday afternoon.

She died there soon after.

Ferguson was last seen on foot at Alberga Creek on the Finke Track about 50km north of Oodnadatta, and police say he may be headed for Finke in the Northern Territory.

He is described as Aboriginal, 176cm tall and with short, black hair.

He was last seen wearing a red, long-sleeved top, pants and a vest jacket, and was carrying a backpack.
