Man-of-the-match Ashton Agar said his maiden ten wicket haul felt bittersweet after South Australia managed to salvage a draw against Western Australia in their Sheffield Shield clash at Gliderol Stadium.
The Warriors had an outright victory in their grasp before a 67-run last wicket stand from Adam Zampa and Gary Putland ensured WA would bat again, setting 75 runs from eight overs for the win.
Needing four runs from the last ball, WA fell short by three and missed the opportunity to return to the top of the ladder.
The Warriors' Agar finished the match with 5-133 in the first innings and 5-81 in the second, in addition to an impressive 64 runs from 47 balls.
"It was great, my first (10-wicket haul), but it's still a hard feeling not winning that game," Agar said.
"We just couldn't finish it off in the end."
Agar wasn't the only standout performer for WA, with captain Adam Voges recording a career-best 249 runs in a 311-run third wicket partnership with Michael Klinger - WA's biggest third wicket score against South Australia in a Shield match.
Former Redbacks captain Klinger also starred with a knock of 151.
The centuries marked back-to-back tons for the Voges and Klinger, who put on 101 and 190 respectively in 215-run partnership against SA last week.
Agar said it was some of the best batting he'd seen.
"It's incredible, I've never seen someone in the form that Vogesy is in," he said.
"Michael Klinger is doing such a great job and they're just holding it together.
"It's just two experienced players doing what they do and it's a joy to watch."
Zampa, whose heroics kept the Redbacks in the contest, said it was a disappointing match for South Australia.
The leg spinner finished with 3-222 with the ball but showed plenty of fight with the bat, posting 55 in the first innings as well as the match-saving knock of 74 on the final day.
"I guess leaving that game you could say it's a losing draw," Zampa said.
"It was a disappointing game for us.
"We showed a bit of fight and got away with a draw."
