SA woman critical as car hits tree

An Adelaide Hills woman has been critically hurt after a car struck a tree near her home.

A woman in her 70s is fighting for her life after a car in which she was a passenger struck a tree in the Adelaide Hills.

The car, driven by a 70-year-old Lobethal man, hit the tree at nearby Woodside about 4pm, police say.

He had minor injuries but the woman, 76, also from Lobethal, suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to the Flinders Medical Centre in a critical condition.
