The NRL exile of Gavin Reynolds and Rick MacFarlane is over, the pair named to officiate in the top grade again for the first time since Canberra's controversial round-19 loss to Cronulla.

Assistant referee Reynolds has been named to officiate in Friday night's match between Manly and the Gold Coast at Lottoland.

Touch judge MacFarlane will run the sideline for Sunday's clash between Canterbury and the Warriors at ANZ Stadium, his first match since July 20.

MacFarlane was the man at the centre of the controversial Cronulla try against the Raiders, after he incorrectly raised his flag at the time of a possible knock on in the lead up.

Meanwhile Reynolds was dropped after he called what was later deemed to be a fair Raiders pass forward late as Canberra attempted to mount a comeback.

The match prompted a lengthy fall out and as NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg promised those at the centre of the officiating blunders were dropped.

It also led to several questions being asked about the NRL's bunker, the confidence of the referees' group and whether there were too many voices in officials' ears during matches.
