World champion Peter Sagan earned a record 12th career win at the Tour of Switzerland, sprinting to a second-stage victory on Sunday.

Juergen Roelandts of Belgium leads overall one minute ahead of Fabian Cancellara who leads Orica's Luke Durbridge by five minutes.

On a second day of racing on rain-soaked roads, the Slovak was fastest in the sprint finish after a 187.6km route of four laps around Baar.

Maximiliano Richeze of Argentina was second and Michael Matthews of Australia was third, both in the same time as Sagan.

Roelandts was fifth, also with Sagan's time, to take the leader's yellow jersey by one second from Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland.

Sagan rose to fourth overall, trailing Roelandts by 10 seconds.

The nine-day race continues Monday with a 192.6km ride from Grosswangen to Rheinfelden.
