SAI Global receives more takeover interest

A $1.1b takeover offer for information and corporate standards company SAI Global has sparked interest from several other prospective buyers.

IT company SAI Global is reviewing its options after a $1.1 billion takeover offer sparked interest from several potential buyers.

The information services group, best known for its subsidiary Standards Australia, last week received an indicative takeover offer from private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners.

It has since been approached by several other parties also expressing interest in its businesses, SAI said on Monday.

In response, the company has launched a formal process to "review its strategic options".

A virtual data room will be established, allowing all interested parties to take a closer look at the company and its accounts.

SAI also said it remained open to engaging with Pacific Equity Partners to determine whether a binding takeover proposal can be put before shareholders for consideration.

"The board cautions that at this time there is no guarantee that a proposal that is capable of being put to shareholders will eventuate from any party," SAI said.
