A more stable lineup in attack paid big dividends for St Kilda in their upset AFL win over Melbourne.
After kicking their highest score of the season against the Demons, it's a strong sign for the Saints as they aim to cause some damage in the last eight rounds.
"Probably for the last five or six weeks, there hasn't been a whole heap of change for the team in front of the ball," said key forward Paddy McCartin.
"It's something that not everyone things about, but it has a fair impact.
"You play with five or six guys continuously ... you get to know exactly what you're doing."
While the Saints will lose forward Josh Battle with a fractured eye socket, they are likely to replace him with Josh Bruce for Saturday's away match against Port Adelaide.
Bruce has not played in the AFL since round three.
Sunday's win over Melbourne was only the second time this season that St Kilda have kicked more than 100 points.
It is also their second-straight win after a a 10-game stretch where they only had one draw.
"It can be pretty hard sometimes as a group to just keep track of where we want to go - especially after what we had in store for this year," McCartin said.
"But the group has stuck together really well.
"We've kept sight of what we want to do (and) the last couple of weeks have been really good, a justification of what we're trying to do.
"To knock off Melbourne, it sets a good tone for the second half of the season."
