Salary cap woes follow Woods to Sharks

Cronulla mid-season recruit Aaron Woods says a salary cap probe on the eve of the NRL finals could work in the Sharks' favour.

Aaron Woods can't believe his bad luck as another NRL salary cap drama follows him to new club Cronulla.

The Sharks front-rower, forced out of Canterbury this season due to salary cap issues, was caught by surprise after hearing reports Cronulla were under investigation for historical third-party discrepancies dating back to 2015.

But the 27-year-old told Big Sports Breakfast he believes the probe could potentially foster an "us against everyone" mentality and bring the club closer together on the eve of the finals.
