Samantha Stosur has won her all-Aussie Strasbourg quarter-final against Ajla Tomljanovic in three sets 6-4 3-6 6-4.

Stosur took a little over two hours to defeat Tomljanovic in a match that only featured five breaks of serve in total.

Stosur was particularly impressive in the final set and showed great dominance and nerve on her own serve, not only failing to give up a break point, but also winning 17 of 18 points on her first serve.

Into the semi-finals Stosur awaits the winner of a match between American Sloane Stephens and Serbia's Jelena Jankovic.

Her performance in Strasbourg has set Stosur up well for next week's French Open at Roland Garros where she made the final in 2010 and semi-finals in 2012 and 2009.

If Stosur can go on to win the tournament in Strasbourg it will be her first title for the year, and first since winning Osaka in October last year.
