Former Sri Lanka Test batsman Kumar Sangakkara has scored his 100th century in all cricket, steering Surrey to a quarter-final win over Yorkshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup at Headingley.
Sangakkara's run-a-ball 121 led Surrey to 7-313 and was the champion left-hander's 39th hundred in domestic matches, adding to his 61 first-class centuries.
The 39-year-old Sangakkara recently fell 16 runs short of a record-equalling sixth consecutive first-class century for Surrey in the County Championship.
Had Sangakkara reached triple figures, he would have joined Australian great Don Bradman, England's CB Fry and South African Mike Procter in making centuries in six consecutive first-class innings.
Sangakkara will retire from first-class cricket at the end of the English summer.
He retired from Test cricket two years ago, having scored 12,400 runs to be fifth on the all-time list.
