Santos forms JV with key Chinese investors

Energy giant Santos will form a strategic partnership with key China's Hony Capital and ENN Group to jointly invest in gas exploration and LNG production.

Energy giant Santos has agreed to form a strategic partnership with key Chinese shareholders to jointly invest in gas exploration and LNG production in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Santos says it has formalised its relationship with signed an agreement with Chinese private equity firm Hony Capital and Chinese gas distribution company ENN Group, which together own 15.1 per cent in the Australian company.

As part of the deal, ENN's Eugene Shi will join the Santos board as a non-executive director.
