SBS receives 10 Logie Award nominations

NITV has secured its first Logie nomination as part of SBS, one of 10 nominations the broadcaster received for the 2014 awards.

NITV has been nominated in the Most Outstanding Children’s Program category for Move it Mob Style as part of the 2014 TV Week Logie Awards, to be announced next month.

 

Drama series Better Man has also been nominated in three categories including Most Outstanding Miniseries or Telemovie, up against productions such as ABC’s Paper Giants: Magazine Wars and Top of the Lake by Foxtel and UKTV.

 

'Better Man' star Remy Hii has been nominated for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer and David Wenham for Most Outstanding Actor.

SBS News and Current Affairs secured two nominations among the 10 nominations, double the amount the broadcaster secured in 2013.

 

Europe Correspondent Brett Mason’s story, 'Crisis in Cairo', has been nominated in the Most Outstanding News Coverage category and Dateline’s report, 'Manus Island', for Most Outstanding Public Affairs Report.  

 

Jabbed: Love, Fear and Vaccines, a documentary exploring the immunisation debate, has been nominated for Most Outstanding Factual Program, as has “Dirty Business: How Mining Made Australia”.

 

Housos also secured a nomination in Most Outstanding Light Entertainment, while the broadcaster’s coverage of the 100th Tour de France has been nominated for Most Outstanding Sports Coverage.

 

Winners will be announced at the Logie Awards in Melbourne on April 27.
