Sonny Bill Williams has given adoring Sydney Roosters fans no clues to his future after receiving a hero's welcome at the new NRL premiers' fan day celebrations on Monday.

The Roosters celebrated with their supporters at their Allianz Stadium headquarters on Monday morning, just 12 hours after completing their victory lap following the 26-18 grand final win over Manly.

Initially man of the moment SBW was nowhere to be seen, leaving the crowd of around 2000 wondering whether they had seen the last of the hugely gifted New Zealand dual international.

A few minutes into interviews being conducted for the fans, Williams ambled onto the stage with the crowd rapturously chanting his Christian name.

Williams also left it late to make his impact on the grand final, but when he did he produced a couple of crucial defence-splitting plays which helped turn a 10-point second half deficit into victory.

He wasn't asked, nor did he volunteer, any information about his contract intentions in a brief interview during which he used the word "awesome" many times.

On Sunday night he indicated he would make a decision on his playing future in the next two weeks, with pundits widely tipping him to return to rugby union in New Zealand.
