SBW, Inglis chance for international award

Sonny Bill Williams, Greg Inglis and Scotland halfback Danny Brough have been nominated for rugby league's International Player of the Year award.

Dual New Zealand international Sonny Bill Williams is in the running for rugby league's International Player of the Year award.

The Kiwis second-rower is on the short-list for the accolade, along with Australian fullback Greg Inglis and Scotland halfback Danny Brough.

The winner will be announced at the Rugby League International Federation dinner in Manchester next week in the lead-up to the World Cup final.

After five years in rugby, during which he played 19 Tests for the All Blacks, Williams made a spectacular return to league in 2013, becoming a key member of the Sydney Roosters' NRL premiership-winning side.

Inglis starred in South Sydney's run through to the NRL last-four and also for Queensland in another State of Origin series win.

Brough, who plays for Huddersfield, is Super League's Man of Steel, or player of the season.
