Schoolboy footballer Kayne Turner hardly says boo around the club, according to his North Melbourne teammate Brent Harvey.

And while Harvey has played 383 games and Turner has just five under his belt, the 36-year-old Harvey says there's much to like about the kid half his age.

"The best thing about it, he's letting his footy do the talking at the minute," Harvey told Seven's "AFL Game Day" on Sunday.

"He's been great in the five games he's played."

The 72kg Turner had just eight disposals in Friday night's semi-final win over Geelong but importantly also contributed a goal and a game-high nine tackles.

Turner can boast 55 possessions, 24 tackles and eight goals in his five-game AFL career.

North's midfielder-forward Jack Ziebell, who like Turner is from the Victoria town of Wodonga on the NSW border, has also noticed Turner's calm personality around the change rooms at Arden Street.

"He's super quiet actually, Kayne. He doesn't say much around the club," Ziebell told the Seven Network.

"He doesn't say much to anyone really."

Harvey says the lightly-built wrecking ball, who has captured the attention of fans and the media with his whole-hearted tackling and bumping efforts, will benefit from playing in big finals so early in his career.

"I believe playing out here in front of 65,000 people, it's equivalent to 25 games," Harvey told AAP after Friday's win at the MCG.

"So for Kayne Turner who's played his fifth game, he's like a little veteran.

"He's played 50 games now to me because this is equivalent to 25, last week's elimination final (is also equivalent to) 25.

"To get that into Ben Cunnington, Ryan Bastinac and these type of guys, it's huge for our football club."
