Schoolies plea after balcony hopping

Paramedics have treated close to 100 schoolies revellers overnight as footage emerged of a girl 'balcony hopping' at a Gold Coast hotel.

Shocking footage has emerged of a teenage girl skirting the outside of a balcony at a Gold Coast hotel as police beg schoolies to make "smart decisions".

The video, shared to Snapchat, shows the girl "balcony hopping" as one of her friends can be heard saying "this isn't going to be funny when she falls".

It comes as police made 11 arrests and paramedics treated close to 100 people overnight for mostly drug and alcohol related concerns.

Police said the majority of revellers were behaving, but labelled the girl's behaviour as high-risk and potentially fatal.

"If they happen to fall, they may never be hopping again," Chief Superintendent Terry Borland said.

"We have concerns about it, and we just really hope people can make smart decisions."
