North Melbourne are off to their best start to an AFL season since 2005 but coach Brad Scott wants more from his undefeated Kangaroos.
North broke a six-year hoodoo when they came from behind to beat Adelaide in round one and made it two wins from their first two starts for the first time since Dean Laidley was in charge with a convincing win over Brisbane last week.
Scott is getting good service from plenty of individual players but he wants to see more from them collectively when they host Melbourne at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Sunday.
"We don't think we're necessarily shooting the lights out as a team," Scott said on Thursday.
"We'll keep working on the team aspect.
"The really pleasing thing is we're doing a lot of things right, but we're still not playing our very, very best footy.
"I think it's a sign of a good side that you can win and be really pleased with that, but still acknowledge that you've got a lot of work to do."
The Roos will look to improve their win-loss record to 3-0 against a team they've beaten 14 times on the trot at a venue where they haven't lost in six outings.
North last went down to Melbourne in round 20 of the 2006 season and they face Paul Roos' men a week after their demoralising loss to Essendon, who were widely tipped to struggle to win a game this season.
"To be honest, streaks are for fans," Scott said.
"They're things that are nice that the fans can talk about, but players and coaches don't focus on those things at all in my experience.
"The previous encounters are irrelevant."
