Brad Scott has added another silver to Australia's growing medal haul at the IPC athletics world championships in France, clocking a season-best time in the T37 800m.
Scott faced a tough task in the event for athletes with cerebral palsy, finishing 5.64sec behind world record-holder Michael McKillop (1:57.17) on Sunday.
The 25-year-old said he was happy to have improved on his bronze medal win at last year's London Paralympics, but had hoped for a better time.
"I probably would have liked a little bit quicker but it's the best I had on the day and enough to perform well for my country," Scott said.
"Michael is an unbelievable athlete and obviously it was very difficult to chase him down. He is someone I aspire to be like when it comes to competition and to see him run another world record is an amazing performance."
The ACT's Katherine Proudfoot and Victorian Richard Colman earned Australia two more medals on the second day of competition, winning a bronze each in the F35/36 shot put and T53 wheelchair 800m respectively.
Proudfoot threw a season-beast 10.16m to claim third-place, providing a timely a boost ahead of her discus throw event for athletes with cerebral palsy later in the program.
"I had a season best and three throws over 10 metres which is a solid result for me and it gives me great confidence to keep pushing to do better in Rio," she said.
Earlier, three-time London Paralympics medallist Angela Ballard won silver in the T53 wheelchair 200m - the first of her five events at Parc de Parilly.
NSW's Guy Henly also claimed bronze in the F37/38 discus for athletes with cerebral palsy or an acquired brain injury.
The 26-year-old threw an Oceania record of 51.13m in his first attempt which was enough to secure third place.
