He's known as a meticulous planner but when it comes to being a dad on tour next year, Australian golfer Adam Scott admits he'll be making it up as he goes.

Scott and wife Marie Kojzar have announced they are expecting their first child in February, adding a new dimension to the world No.3's demands in 2015.

When asked about the pending arrival, Scott couldn't hide a grin as he admitted he was entering unknown territory.

"No idea, I'm just going to wing it," Scott said.

"I've seen plenty of stuff over the years. I don't know if I'm prepared but certainly plenty of guys out there to lean on if I have any problems."

Scott, who is two shots off the lead after two rounds of the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast, said his wife's pregnancy hadn't proven a distraction to his game.

Instead the 34-year-old says he's just looking forward to whatever lies ahead.

"It's exciting for sure," he said.

"It's all gone smoothly so far."
