Search continues for NSW fisherman

Two rock fishermen have been rescued and treated in hospital after being swept into the ocean in north NSW, but a third man remains missing.

The search for a missing NSW rock fisherman will continue at Forster in the state's north.

Three men were swept into the ocean at Sugarloaf Point near Seal Rocks just after 12.30pm (AEST) on Wednesday afternoon.

One man, aged 39, swam to shore and contacted emergency services and a second man, aged 34, was rescued a short time later.

The two men were taken to Manning Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A search for a third man, aged 45, was called off last night, but police say it will resume at 7am.
