Search continues for prospector in WA

A new team has been sent to continue the search for missing prospector Jennie Kehlet in WA's Goldfields.

Investigators are continuing in the search for missing prospector Jennie Kehlet in Western Australia's Goldfields region.

Her 47-year-old husband Raymond Kehlet was found dead at the bottom of a 12-metre deep disused mine shaft in April, more than three weeks after the pair were last seen camping in the Tabletop area on March 22.

The alarm was raised after their emaciated Great Dane wandered into the Sandstone Caravan Park, about 30km away, one week later.

As part of the ongoing investigation, a search team had spent more than a week examining an expanded area before concluding activities last Friday.

A new team was sent to the Sandstone area on Sunday and will begin searching for Ms Kehlet on Monday.

Last month, detectives said they did not expect to find the 49-year-old woman alive and described the search as a "recovery mission".

Ms Kehlet's daughter, Kelly, said at the time the family needed closure.

"It's hard to move through the steps of grief when you don't have anyone to mourn," she said.

Police are still appealing for the public's assistance to reconstruct who was in the area in March.
