Three months after the disappearance of Riverina woman Allecha Boyd NSW police are searching for her body after charging a man with her murder.

Ms Boyd, 27, was last seen on August 10 as a passenger in a green Subaru travelling from Wagga Wagga to Coolamon.

She has not been seen or heard of since.

On Tuesday a 19-year-old Wagga Wagga man was charged with Ms Boyd's murder.

On Wednesday, Detective Inspector Darren Cloake emphasised the investigation was not yet finished.

"We have not yet located Allecha's remains and investigations are continuing to try and find her," he told AAP.

"We are continuing to liaise closely with Allecha's family as those investigations continue."

The man charged with Ms Boyd's murder was arrested on Tuesday at a home on Gurwood Street in Wagga Wagga, where police say they also seized a loaded shortened rifle.

He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.

"We will be alleging he was involved in Allecha's disappearance and subsequent murder," Det Insp Cloake told AAP.

The family and friends of Ms Boyd have expressed their grief after the arrest.

They expressed their disbelief on a Facebook page originally set up to help bring Ms Boyd home.

"The thought of never seeing that beautiful smile again just breaks my heart," one wrote on a Facebook page originally set up to help bring Ms Boyd home..

"I knew we would find Allecha soon but NOT like this RIP sweet Angel. This is so so wrong," another wrote.

R.I.P Allecha, heaven has gained another angel. Gone but never forgotten. Always in our hearts," a message read.
