Search for distressed vessel off WA coast

Rescuers from the water police and surf Lifesaving are searching for a vessel that reported being in distress off the West Australian coast.

A search is underway for a vessel that reported being in distress in the ocean off Sorrento, in Perth's north.

Water police, airwing, the Surf Lifesaving helicopter and volunteer marine rescue are involved.

It is not yet known how many people are on the boat.
