Search for elderly Sydney woman continues

Rescuers will continue their search for an elderly woman who went missing in bushland in Sydney's north since December 3.

The search for an elderly woman missing in Sydney bushland will enter its fifth day on Monday.

Gaida Coote, 84, has been missing since December 3 when she drove to Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden at St Ives in Sydney's north.

Rescuers searched the area until 5.30pm on Sunday before scaling back their efforts as heavy cloud and rain set in.

Police are expected to resume their search at 8.30am on Monday.

Mrs Coote is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a thin build and short wavy grey hair.
