Search for missing gyrocopter in NT

A 40-year-old man who was flying a gyrocopter has been missing near Timber Creek in the Northern Territory since Thursday morning.

A search is underway for an aircraft that has been missing in the Northern Territory since Thursday morning.

Emergency Services members are currently conducting searches east of the Timber Creek Airstrip for a missing gyrocopter.

The Gyrocopter, containing a 40-year-old male pilot, left Timber Creek Airstrip near the WA border at about 9:30am.

Police were contacted when the aircraft failed to arrive at Stapleton at the scheduled time of 1pm.

Air and land searches continue in attempts to find the aircraft and the pilot.
