Second measles case hits Melbourne suburbs

A second measles diagnosis has prompted health authorities to issue a public warning for parts of Melbourne.

A second Melbourne measles diagnosis has prompted a warning to watch for symptoms of the contagious disease.

Authorities on Wednesday said the person may have been infectious between January 9 and Friday while visiting locations in Kew East, Abbotsford, North Fitzroy and Prahran, and travelling on the Hurstbridge line train from Collingwood to Ivanhoe.

It comes after a man in his 20s and diagnosed with the disease was linked to Box Hill Hospital, prompting authorities to warn on Monday for people to be alert to red eyes, coughing, fever and rashes.
