Queues are clearing at Brisbane's domestic airport after a security scare saw passengers ordered out for re-screening.

Some passengers at Brisbane's domestic airport have been re-screened after a security scare, leaving frustrated passengers waiting in long queues.

Concerns that one passenger got into a sterile part of the airport without proper security checks forced Virgin to screen everyone again.

The airline said no flights were delayed, but passengers at the airport reported long queues.
